  8. 1. Purification: Don't do drugs. Don't smoke. Don't drink too much.
  9. Don't overeat, and don't starve yourself. Exercise. Go to your
  10. classes.  Make your mind and your body as functional and integrated as
  11. possible in this step.

  13. 2. Initiation: Select a site where the caster and the subject are
  14. likely to meet, perhaps along a common path or a class. Begin the
  15. ancient ritual of friendly conversation without ulterior motive (note:
  16. ulterior motive is the main cause of failure for this part of the
  17. spell.) Use said friendly conversation to note likenesses and
  18. differences between the caster and the subject. Step #2 may need to be
  19. repeated several times before the caster (and the subject) are ready
  20. to move on to step #3.

  22. 3. Socialization: Offer attendance at some social occasion together,
  23. such as a large gathering of partygoers or moviegoers or bowlinggoers
  24. or bungeejumpinggoers. Proper execution of steps #1 and #2 will guide
  25. you as to the correct path to choose in this step. Insert also brief
  26. usage of step #2, as the said social engagement will now become a said
  27. common place for the caster and the subject to meet.

  29. 4. Purification mark II: Do nothing to endanger the subject's trust in
  30. you. Proper execution of this step is largely dependent on what you
  31. learn in step one.

  33. 5. Initiation mark II: By this time the caster and subject should be
  34. good friends, or at very least familiar with one another. The caster
  35. should at this point introduce to the subject the topic of a deeper
  36. relationship, possibly involving sharing meals regularly, meeting each
  37. other's parental units, sharing living space, sharing secrets, sharing
  38. sex, etc. Not necessarily in that order, and at a gentle pace.

  40. 6. Decision: Are there any doubts in the caster's mind? Should he
  41. terminate the spell or take it to a conclusion? Is the subject
  42. willing?

  77. Hmm.  Sounds to me like he's trying to exchange friendship (very hard
  78. to come by) for some quick sex.  Bad trade.

  80. Also, rephrase the request a bit.  He wants to overcome her Will and
  81. impose himself on her by force.  Not nice, even though we're not
  82. talking about physical force (hopefully!).

  84. However, many of us here are not nice.  Herwith, my never-fail love
  85. charm, translated from the original Chaldean:

  88. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened        2 eggs
  89. 3/4 cup white sugar            1 teaspoon baking soda
  90. 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed        1/2 teaspoon salt
  91. 1 teaspoon vanilla            12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
  92. 2.25 cup unsifted white flour        1 cup chopped nuts (**)

  94. Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  95. Add eggs; beat well.  Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually
  96. beat into creamed mixture.  Carefully stir in chips and nuts.  Drop by
  97. teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees F or
  98. until lightly browned.  Cool slightly; remove from sheet.

  100. Present, with suitable expressions of affection and humility, to
  101. subject while still warm.  (The Charm, not the Mage, stupid! :-)

  103. (*) Substitution of ingredients, sometimes practiced by the
  104. spiritually less advanced, imperils the whole Charm.  In particular,
  105. substituting rasins for chocolate chips places the Immortal Soul of
  106. the Mage in dire danger.

  108. (**) Mystical opinion is divided on the subject of nuts.  The Mage
  109. must consult the stars for the particular occasion in question.
